Beyond the bias: Designing AI for social fairness
A 2025 study led by the University of Melbourne with KPMG found that over 70 percent of surveyed organizations plan to implement AI within two years. If not implemented responsibly, AI can copy systemic inequalities into systems and worsen disadvantages for vulnerable groups, since most AI systems are built on historical data.
