02Build a draft deck from a Word documentNeeds check
Copilot can draft slides from a Word document; documents under 24 MB organized with Styles work best. With a work Microsoft 365 Copilot license, PDFs and encrypted files can also be used.
- Organize the source Word document with Styles and save it to OneDrive or SharePoint
- Start from your company template if you want to keep its theme
- Open Copilot, ask it to create a presentation from the file, and select the document (exact current UI flow needs confirmation)
- Check the generated slides and speaker notes against the source and edit
Create slides for an internal study session from the selected Word document (an internal therapeutic-area review). Condense each chapter into one or two slides and put the key points of the matching text in the speaker notes.
The support page says file references are coming soon to Agent Mode, while Purview documentation names a Create presentation from file action; the exact on-screen flow may vary, so this needs confirmation. A sensitivity label on the source file is inherited by the new presentation. You need permission to use the file.

04Generate speaker notesVerified
From the Notes drop-down on the View tab, generate speaker notes for all slides or the current slide. Works best on decks with fewer than 50 slides.

- Review the notes and select Keep it or Discard
