Analysis of Binary O-type Star Systems Using Recurrent Neural Networks

The study examines how adding a secondary spectrum affects estimates of effective temperature and surface gravity for O-type binary systems. The authors use a recurrent neural network with 34 equivalent-width measurements to analyze 192 simulated systems and 1152 modified spectra. For most spectra the estimates decreased as the secondary's contribution grew, but the pattern varied across combinations, so the system is sensitive to the secondary yet does not establish a unique contribution for it.
