Toward provably private learning from federated data
Google announces a next-generation Federated Learning system that provides externally verifiable privacy guarantees while moving computation to the server to improve training speed, accuracy, and device coverage. The system uses Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) to make its data anonymization guarantees fully verifiable and auditable. Logic running in TEEs is remotely attestable, so third parties can verify it.
