OpenAI posts 700 maths preprints online: mathematicians are up in arms
OpenAI used an unreleased model on hundreds of high-profile mathematical problems and posted more than 700 AI-generated preprints on GitHub on 6 October. Some mathematicians welcomed the solutions of long-standing problems, while others complained on social media about being scooped. One mathematician called the flood a "slopocalypse", although the content could still prove formally correct.
