Chandra and Multiwavelength Study of Pevatron Candiate HESS J1702-420A
HESS J1702-420A is a candidate Galactic PeVatron whose nature is still unknown. Chandra observations and machine-learning classification resolved the earlier XMM-Newton X-ray source into a point-like source (Src11) and asymmetric diffuse emission, with properties consistent with pulsar/PWN systems. Because the source lies about 7 arcminutes from the TeV source, a firm association is difficult, and Src11 is identified as the most compelling candidate.
