The paper proposes a framework for assessing how LLMs and related technologies may affect work, based on their relevance to the tasks workers perform. Applying it with both humans and an LLM, the authors estimate that about 1.8% of jobs could have over half their tasks affected by LLMs with simple interfaces and general training. Accounting for complementary software developments, that share rises to just over 46%.
