This paper reports an expert survey (N = 166) and a public consultation on thresholds for advanced AI systems, conducted between August and October 2024. Participants generally agreed that thresholds should be set by multiple stakeholders and that different types of threshold should serve specific purposes. They were divided on the role of training compute thresholds and on how many thresholds there should be.
