There are growing concerns that AGI could pose catastrophic risks, so AGI companies need to substantially improve their risk management. This paper reviews popular risk assessment techniques from other safety-critical industries and suggests how AGI companies could use them. The authors note that these techniques alone will not be sufficient to assess catastrophic AI risks, but AGI companies should still review best practices from other industries.
