MIT Transit Lab to develop an AI platform for public transit agencies
The MIT Transit Lab will develop the Public Transit Intelligence Hub (PTIQ) with $2.1 million from Google.org, one of only 15 projects selected in the Google.org Impact Challenge: AI for Government Innovation. PTIQ aims to unify transit agencies' real-time monitoring, operations control, and passenger communication into a single AI-orchestrated platform. It is intended to help control center staff make better-informed decisions and give riders more immediate and accurate information.
