Leading AI companies aim to build AGI, but best practices for managing its risks have not yet emerged. The authors surveyed 92 experts from AGI labs, academia, and civil society and received 51 responses on 50 statements about what AGI labs should do. On average, respondents agreed with all the statements, with 98% somewhat or strongly agreeing on pre-deployment risk assessments, dangerous capability evaluations, third-party audits, usage restrictions, and red teaming.
