AI megadeals dominate venture capital as investors pour billions into fewer startups
Global venture capital investment reached US$170.9 billion across 8,341 deals in Q3 2026, according to KPMG's Venture Pulse. Year-to-date funding through September totaled US$728.3 billion, on track for one of the strongest years on record. AI remained the dominant theme, and AI megadeals accounted for many of the largest rounds across regions.
