Flow of the MS lesion segmentation study on MRI. Class imbalance makes conventional loss functions miss small lesions. RGA penalizes the network when false-negative regions have low attribution and false-positive regions have high attribution. Tested on two public datasets, nnU-Net + RGA reached a DSC of 0.7056 and 0.7466. Dedicated deployment validation is needed before clinical use.
