How to level up systematic innovation with AI | MIT Sloan
MIT Sloan professor Steven Eppinger says artificial intelligence can boost the systematic innovation of products, processes, and services, and outlined four steps for making that happen. The key is designing innovation processes that can be decomposed into a series of smaller, discrete steps, since AI tools work better on smaller tasks — and while AI can write its own instructions, that doesn't mean it will write the right ones, so humans should write the instructions for tasks they already know how to do. He stressed that organizations must keep humans at the center of decision-making and retain decision responsibility.
