CyberSN report: cybersecurity job postings fall 26%, but AI security hiring surges

CyberSN recorded 235,786 US cybersecurity job postings through September 2026, down 26.4% from a year earlier. Demand for AI security engineers rose 268.3%. Postings for traditional security engineering, analysis, penetration testing and leadership roles all fell from an unusually high 2025, while employers sought specialists who can evaluate models, protect AI infrastructure and manage new automation risks.
