Trained AI may become better at Cancer diagnosis than pathologists

Researchers led by University of Pennsylvania pathologist Zhi Huang developed an AI system trained to emulate how human pathologists search tissue slides. The system significantly improved cancer-spotting accuracy. The work points toward a new collaborative role for AI in medical diagnosis.
