Inference-Focused 2nm-Generation Chips to Be Used for Medical AI; Five Parties Selected by NEDO

A project by five parties, the Leading-edge Semiconductor Technology Center (LSTC), Hokkaido University, Fujifilm, GE HealthCare Japan and imec, was selected on the 20th for a NEDO program. The program is the Post-5G Information and Communication System Infrastructure Enhancement R&D Project, covering advanced semiconductor manufacturing technology. The project will develop a fast, low-power medical image processing system using inference-focused 2nm-generation semiconductors.
