Nevada Unions and Politicians Caught Between AI Job Creation and Job Loss

Data center complexes are being built on more than 100,000 acres of desert east of Reno, providing work for thousands of union electricians, plumbers and other tradespeople. About 400 miles southeast, on the Las Vegas Strip, AI-related technology is having an effect: Zoox and Waymo self-driving cars are replacing human-driven taxis and valet drivers, and robots are replacing casino floor bartenders.
