Generative AI will not solve Switzerland's workforce problem: it will only partially cushion the retirement wave

Over the next ten years, 900,000 people in the Swiss labour force will reach retirement age, one in five members of the working population. A new Deloitte analysis of 279 occupations finds that in nursing and care, skilled trades and transport, AI can ease administrative tasks but only partly offset replacement demand. In software and marketing occupations, AI transformation potential is high.
