Circle Internet Group and Proof presented an AI agent-based payments and identity protocol at Money20/20 in late October 2026. The partners used USDC to show AI agents completing verified, identity-gated purchases without exposing underlying personal data. The demo integrated the x401 identity framework with the x402 payment protocol.
