On October 16, 2026, China's Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Science and Technology jointly issued Announcement No. 48. It releases for public comment proposed revisions to the Catalogue of Technologies Prohibited or Restricted from Export of China. The proposal would add targeted controls in artificial intelligence, life sciences and photovoltaic technologies.
