Warning on Overestimated Medical AI: Breast Cancer MRI Data Used to Test Evaluation Methods

A research team from Niigata University of Health and Welfare and Yamaguchi University Hospital used MRI data from a breast cancer clinical trial to verify how medical AI is evaluated. They found that using the same patient data for model building and performance evaluation leads to an overestimate of apparent performance.
